Our team only exists in HQNL, so we serve all the data centres and sometimes we need to travel to other locations. When we upgraded the core switches of the Frankfurt data centres, our entire team went and migrated the network over a weekend due to the size of the data centres and number of devices. The cooperation and team spirit was amazing.
When I arrive at the office I check whether there are any issues in the network. If there are, I will try to solve them first. I will see if anybody has created any tickets with requests for the network and work my way down that list. If I have any spare time, I check the network proactively to see if there are any issues and clean up the network when needed.
I really like the freedom we get in deciding how we work and the room I have to explore new products and technologies. Besides this, I get the opportunity to study for certificates.
As a technician, I like immersing myself in the latest technologies, and Interxion is constantly improving so I get to test them. If they are approved, I help to deploy them throughout all data centres.
